THE LORD’S DAY
BIBLE SENTENCE & PRAYER: Stated Supply Pastor Rev. Dr. R. Geoffrey Brown
PRELUDE: “You Say,” Soloist—Shannon Lewis
Musicians today: Robin Phillips, piano; Shannon Lewis, violin
PLEASE NOTE: This music provides an opportunity for us to meditate, prepare our hearts, and reverently worship God the Father, the Son, & the Holy Spirit.
CALL TO WORSHIP: Elder Marylou Rossman
“Blessed are You, O Lord, the God of Israel our father, forever and ever.”
“Yours, O Lord, is the greatness and the power and the glory and the victory and the majesty, for all that is in the heavens and in the earth is Yours. Yours is the kingdom, O Lord, and You are exalted as head above all.
“Both riches and honor come from You, and You rule over all. In Your hand are power and might, and in Your hand it is to make great and to give strength to all. 13 And now we thank You, our God, and praise Your glorious name.
“But who am I, and what is my people, that we should be able thus to offer willingly? For all things come from You, and of Your own have we given You. 16 O Lord our God, all this abundance that we have provided…for Your holy Name comes from Your hand and is all Your own.
“O Lord, the God of Abraham, Isaac, and Israel, our fathers, keep forever such purposes and thoughts in the hearts of Your people, and direct their hearts toward You.
“Then David said to all the assembly, ‘Bless the Lord your God.’ And all the assembly blessed the Lord, the God of their fathers, and bowed their heads and paid homage to the Lord…” (1 Chronicles 29:10-20, selected verses)
SONG OF PRAISE: “Hallelujah, What a Savior!”
1 Man of sorrows what a name for the Son of God, who came
ruined sinners to reclaim: Hallelujah, what a Savior!
2 Bearing shame and scoffing rude, in my place condemned he stood,
sealed my pardon with his blood: Hallelujah, what a Savior!
3 Guilty, helpless, lost were we; blameless Lamb of God was he,
sacrificed to set us free: Hallelujah, what a Savior!
4 He was lifted up to die; “It is finished” was his cry;
now in heaven exalted high: Hallelujah, what a Savior!
5 When he comes, our glorious King, all his ransomed home to bring,
then anew this song we’ll sing: Hallelujah, what a Savior!
INVOCATION: In Unison
Holy and most loving God – empower us now by the outpouring of your Holy Spirit, to worship you in spirit and in truth. And we glorify You now, blessed Trinity, God the Father, the Son and the Holy Spirit. Oh, be glorified in our time of worshiping You on this Sabbath Day. We ask this through Jesus Christ our Savior and Lord, our Prophet, our Priest & our King. Hallelujah! Hallelujah! Hallelujah! Amen!
HYMN OF WORSHIP: “Revive Us Again”
1 We praise thee, O God, for the Son of thy love,
for Jesus who died, and is now gone above.
Refrain:
Hallelujah! Thine the glory, hallelujah! Amen!
Hallelujah! Thine the glory, revive us again.
2 We praise thee, O God, for thy Spirit of light
who has shown us our Savior and scattered our night. [Refrain]
3 We praise thee, O God, for the joy thou hast giv’n
to thy saints in communion, these foretastes of heav’n. [Refrain
4 Revive us again, fill each heart with thy love.
May each soul be rekindled with fire from above. [Refrain]
CONFESSING OUR SIN TOGETHER: In Unison
Merciful Lord, we confess that with us there is an abundance of sin, but in you there is the fullness of righteousness and abundance of mercy. We are spiritually poor, but you are rich and in Jesus Christ came to be merciful to the poor. Strengthen our faith and trust in you. We are empty vessels that need to be filled; fill us. We are weak in faith; strengthen us. We are cold in love; warm us, and make our hearts fervent for you that our love may go and proclaim Your goodness. Through Jesus Christ our Lord. Amen. Please the next few moments for quiet reflection and confession of sins to God.
ASSURANCE OF PARDON:
If we claim to be sinless, we are self-deceived. If we confess our sins, God is just and may be trusted to forgive our sins and cleanse us from every kind of wrong.

#2 Our Hero, Paul―Helps Us with a Shaming Culture
CLOSING SONG: “Glorious Things of Thee Are Spoken”
1 Glorious things of thee are spoken, Zion, city of our God;
he whose word cannot be broken formed thee for his own abode;
on the Rock of Ages founded, what can shake thy sure repose?
With salvation’s walls surrounded, thou may’st smile at all thy foes.
2 See the streams of living waters, springing from eternal love,
well supply thy sons and daughters, and all fear of want remove;
who can faint while such a river ever flows their thirst t’assuage?
Grace, which like the Lord, the giver, never fails from age to age.
3 Round each habitation hov’ring, see the cloud and fire appear
for a glory and a cov’ring, showing that the Lord is near;
thus deriving from their banner light by night and shade by day,
safe they feed upon the manna which he gives them when they pray.
4 Savior, if of Zion’s city I, thro’ grace, a member am,
let the world deride or pity, I will glory in thy name;
fading is the worldling’s pleasure, all his boasted pomp and show;
solid joys and lasting treasure none but Zion’s children know.
