Dear Friend,
This newsletter is to keep you informed of the events of our church during the month of July 2017.
We look forward to your participation with us in the abundant life that our Lord so graciously provides.
During these summer months, we enjoy the visitors to our church. It is an opportunity for us to show Christ’s love. Many of our own are vacationing, and we pray that each of you will enjoy God’s refreshment and renewal.
THE GOSPEL-CENTERED LIFE:
A discussion-oriented class, led by Pastor Paul and Elder Susan, will meet on July 16, 23, and 30, at 10:45, in classroom 2. The goal of this gathering is to get us discussing our faith at a heart level so that the gospel becomes more real and central in all our lives. The class is for believers and nonbelievers alike. All are invited.
THE MEN’S GROUP
will break on July 4 and then meet on Tuesdays, at 6:30 p.m. A new study will be determined to begin later in the month. All men are encouraged to come.
A VISIT FROM OUR FORMER PASTOR:
Pastor Jim, former pastor of our church, will be visiting and preaching on July 9. Pastor Paul enjoyed a delightful dinner with Jim at presbytery, where Jim expressed how meaningful it would be to see the congregation. We look forward to catching up with him and experiencing his ministry of the Word once again.
JULY MEETING OF SESSION:
The elders of our church will meet on Wednesday, July 19, at 3pm. If there are any matters you wish the Session to consider, please notify Pastor Paul or another elder by July 14. Visitors are always welcome!
CHILDREN’S WORSHIP
will resume on Sunday, July 16, for ages 3-9. Each week a new story from the Bible is told in the context of God’s great story of saving us in Jesus. Children also learn weekly catechism questions and enter into a time where they learn to how to worship God at their level. Helpers are needed for this ministry.
OPPORTUNITY FOR SERVICE:
We are in need of people to serve as greeters at the door on Sundays. This is an important “first touch” ministry that requires only a warm and welcoming heart. Please sign up in the foyer.
FOOD BANK DONATIONS:
Please bring your donations of food for area needy, the first Sunday of the month, and place in the wicker basket in the foyer.
BABY BOTTLE CAMPAIGN:
Care Net Pregnancy Center of Kittitas County & Roslyn Presbyterian Church
“Baby bottles filled with change – that’s “The Baby Bottle Campaign”.
It’s a simple idea that provides thousands of dollars to save lives. Each year the money raised from the Campaign helps support those facing unplanned pregnancies and their babies through the ministry of Care Net Pregnancy Center of Kittitas County.
The Baby Bottle Campaign helps provide the following free services to moms and babies in our community who are most in need: pregnancy tests, ultrasound, parenting education, material assistance, abortion recovery support, teen sexual health education (abstinence-focused and sex trafficking awareness education), adoption counseling.
