Next Sunday, come to worship and vote! This is mega-important! For Mt. Pisgah to be dismissed to the denomination called the Covenant Order of Evangelical Presbyterians (known as ECO), we need at least 50% of our members to vote for dismissal by at least a 75% favorable vote. The 50% quorum requirement for the vote means that we need our church members here for the vote next Sunday, at 10:00, immediately following the 9:00 worship service. This is one of the most important votes we’ll ever take as a church, so please make every effort to be present. Friends of the congregation will also be able to vote their preference, although their numbers will not affect the quorum requirement, and their vote is advisory only.
Do you have any remaining questions about changing denominations? Please talk with Pastor Berkley or an elder to clear up any questions you may have. Extra copies of a Frequently Asked Questions document are also available by the door for your information. We want all of your questions answered to your satisfaction prior to your vote next Sunday, so ask away!
School Supplies are on sale this time of year and it is a good time to pick them up for the Operation Christmas Child shoeboxes. The shoeboxes will be sent to Samaritan’s Purse in November for shipment to children all around the world sharing the good news of salvation through Jesus Christ.
The church Session meets Monday at 7:00 pm. Please remember your elders and pastor in prayer, as they continue to lead this congregation.
