Important gatherings on Saturday, June 22: The Discernment Team (DT) from our presbytery is working with our church as we discern our denominational alignment for the coming years. The discernment process is meant to help the whole congregation better understand and contribute to a decision on whether to move from the Presbyterian Church (USA) to a new Presbyterian denomination called the Covenant Order of Evangelical Presbyterians (known as “ECO”).
Part o f the discernment process involves two Open Mee tings of the congregation, led by the DT. These meetings will be held at 5:00 and at 7:00 on Saturday, June 22, with a fun potluck supper at 6:00. The second meeting should conclude at 8:00. These meetings will help all of us talk through and better understand what is at stake and what we are considering, so that the entire congregation can make an informed and faithful decision in a later vote. It is important that we gather as many members and friends of the church to reason and pray together on June 22. Please make plans to attend both sessions and be a vital part of a crucial process for the future of this congregation.
A baby shower for CareNet!—Mount Pisgah Women is throwing a baby shower this Wednesday, June 5, at 1:00 at the church. All gifts will be donated to CareNet Pregnancy Center Resource Room. Especially needed is boys’ clothing from newborn to 2T.
Other needs include: small packages of diapers and wipes; baby washcloths, towels and blankets; and toiletries. Gently used clothing is acceptable, and no need to wrap the present. The shower will be the regular Mt. Pisgah Women meeting for June and the final meeting until fall. Women need not be members to attend, just have a heart for Christ, our community, and missions.
The Operation Christmas Child project has a work group most Wednesdays at 2:00 at the church, and your help is welcomed. Also, supplies for the shoeboxes are needed. You can pick up an extensive list of items at the church. Here is a partial list:
- Sewing Kits
- Pins

- Safety pins
- Buttons
- Tape measure
- Scissors
- Trim, ribbon
- Material (light weight)
