We need your ears and mouths on Saturday, June 22. A vital part of our Discernment Process about possibly leaving the Presbyterian Church (USA) is a pair of open meetings with the presbytery Discernment Team, which we will hold a week from Saturday, starting at 5:00 pm for Open Meeting #1, moving into a potluck supper at 6:00, and concluding with Open Meeting #2 at 7:00 for an hour.
The Discernment Team will lead us through times of hearing from you members and friends of Mt. Pisgah, and of considering the reasons for remaining PCUSA or departing to the Covenant Order of Evangelical Presbyterians (ECO). It is important that a broad slice of our members and friends takes part in these gatherings, so that the congregation can make an informed decision when we vote on dismissal later this summer. Please do all you can to attend these informative meetings and the enjoyable potluck. Discernment Team members from our Session will help lead the meetings.
What gifts and talents can you share with our church to help spread the work around? Sometimes a few of the same hands seem to do the major portion of whatever tasks are at hand, but we know there are many able hands in this congregation to share the load. Several small repair/painting/building projects are available. Worship assistants are needed. Weeds abound outside! What can you do to help out? Call the church office (649-3572) Monday–Wednesday mornings to offer your help and get connected with a task. Thank you!
The Operation Christmas Child project has a work group most Wednesdays at 2:00 at the church, and your help is welcomed. Also, supplies for the shoeboxes are needed. Here are some ideas for the school kits:
