The Spaghetti Dinner is this Saturday, October 5, 4:00–7:00 here at the church. This traditional spaghetti feast is a Mt. Pisgah Women fundraiser and a great opportunity to invite friends to enjoy our hospitality. Tickets are available today in the Fellowship Hall for $10. The food is legendary, so don’t miss it!
Mount Pisgah Women meet on Wednesday, October 2 at 1:00. You do not need to be a member to attend; just have a heart for serving the Lord locally and globally. Sally Jo Holmes will share about the human trafficking that is taking place in this area and the efforts to stop it.
Special Billy Graham outreach opportunity – Have you ever dreamed of partnering with Billy Graham to help introduce people to faith in Jesus Christ? This is your opportunity—your final opportunity. In early November, 95-year-old Billy Graham will lead his final crusade ever, and it can take place in your living room! We are looking for hosts who will invite people to their home to watch a DVD presentation by Dr. Graham. Hosts will be trained to help people pray to make a commitment. We’d like to have several homes from our church participate in this important event. Talk with elder Chuck Wallick if you are interested.
“Welcome! Come join us.” Those words are magical to a visitor entering our church on Sunday morning and feeling a stranger. Church members already know one another and have deep friendships, and the closer members feel, the harder it is for a newcomer to fit into what feels like impenetrable conversation groups. So members and regular attenders need to take the initiative to reach out to include people: “Here, take a chair and join us!” “Would you like to sit with us in the Sanctuary?” “Come join us for some refreshments.” Please make an effort to sit with someone new each week and to actively invite others into your circle.
