Potato Potluck this Tuesday evening – Come this Tuesday, September 30, at 5:00 for a fellowship potluck built around baked potatoes. Bring potato toppings or a dessert to share, and Roslyn Presbyterian Women will provide salad and the baked potatoes. This is a great opportunity to bring along friends so that they can get to know people from this church. Bring several friends with you!
Roslyn Presbyterian Women meet on the usual first Wednesday of the month which is October 1st. The final planning for the spaghetti dinner, November elections and budgeting, plus plans for the Christmas luncheon in December will be on the agenda. All women are invited. Susan Colts will be stepping down as moderator and a new moderator is needed. If you have a call for the ministry this group performs let Susan know at the office: 649-3573 or at home: 674-9619.
Reach out to children around the world. One of our biggest projects each year is preparing hundreds of gift boxes to be distributed to destitute children overseas by Samaritan’s Purse. It takes a lot of hands to make the gifts and to assemble the boxes, so each Tuesday at 2:00, a work party is gathering downstairs to lend a hand. Join in on the fun! Items are still needed to fill the boxes, such as hard candies, Beanie Baby–type toys, and school supplies. What might you donate?
Italian Dinner, October 11 – The annual Italian Dinner here in the Fellowship Hall is always a community favorite, so that makes it a great event to invite friends to our church. Tickets are available; call Kathy Juris (656-2252) or the office (649-3572) to purchase yours. Tickets are $10 for adults, $5 for children under 10, and free for children under 5. Don’t miss this opportunity to bring guests.
Special thanks to all who have contributed to the food bank. Our church has been responsive to the needs of others and is greatly appreciated. The Hope Source Food Bank has had several people who routinely cover the hours there become temporarily unable to do so of late. They are asking for volunteers to cover the hours. The days and hours vary throughout the week. If you can offer help, please call Hope Source at 674-2375 and volunteer for the hours that suit you. Thank you for your support and response! Also, just a reminder, next Sunday is Food Bank Sunday. Karen Moore
