LITURGY
*CALL TO WORSHIP:
How shall a young man cleanse his way? By ruling himself according to Your word.
With my whole heart I have sought You; O let me not go astray from Your commandments.
Your words have I hidden within my heart, that I may not sin against You.
Blessed are You, O Lord; teach me Your statutes.
With my lips have I been telling of all the judgments of Your mouth.
I have had greater delight in the way of Your testimonies than in all manner of riches.
I will meditate on Your commandments and have respect for all Your ways.
My delight will be in Your statutes, and I will not forget Your word. (Ps.119:9-16)
.
*HYMN OF PRAISE: “Holy, Holy, Holy! Lord God Almighty”
*INVOCATION:
Oh, Everlasting God, Creator of the ends of the earth – give us eyes of faith and discernment of heart to know beyond all doubt that we stand in the presence of the Holy Spirit, Who knows our deepest and private thoughts. We pray, Holy Spirit, for You to make our hearts burn with desire to worship in truth. Give us power and strength to mount up with wings like eagles to proclaim Your glory in Christ Jesus, our exalted Lord and King! Amen.
.
*HYMN OF WORSHIP: “How Great Thou Are”
CONFESSING OUR SIN TOGETHER:
Almighty God, You love us, but we have not loved You. You call, but we have not listened. We walk away from neighbors in need, wrapped in our own concerns. We condone evil, prejudice, warfare, and greed. God of grace, help us to admit our sin, so that as You come to us in mercy, we may repent, turn to You, and receive forgiveness; through Jesus Christ our Redeemer. Amen. Use the next few moments for quiet confession of sins to God.
ASSURANCE OF PARDON:
God shows His love for us in that while we were still sinners, Christ died for us. Since, therefore, we have now been justified by His blood, much more shall we be saved by Him from the wrath of God. (Romans 5: 8-9)
