CALL TO WORSHIP: Elder Susan Colts
“Blessed are You, O Lord, the God of Israel our Father, forever and ever.”
“Yours, O Lord, is the greatness and the power and the glory and the victory and the majesty, for all that is in the heavens and in the earth is Yours. Yours is the kingdom, O Lord, and You are exalted as head above all.”
“Both riches and honor come from You, and You rule over all. In Your hand are power and might, and in Your hand it is to make great and to give strength to all. And now we thank You, our God, and praise Your glorious name.”
“But who am I, and what is my people, that we should be able thus to offer willingly? For all things come from You, and of Your own have we given You. O Lord our God, all this abundance that we have provided…for Your holy Name comes from Your hand and is all Your own.”
“O Lord, the God of Abraham, Isaac, and Israel, our fathers: keep forever such purposes and thoughts in the hearts of Your people, and direct their hearts toward You.”
“Then David said to all the assembly, ‘Bless the Lord your God.’ And all the assembly blessed the Lord, the God of their fathers, and bowed their heads and paid homage to the Lord and to the king.” And we do that now, O blessed Trinity—God the Father, the Son and the Holy Spirit. Please be glorified today in our time of Sunday worship, through Jesus Christ our Savior and Lord, we ask this. Amen.” (1 Chronicles 29:10-20, selected verses)

SONG OF PRAISE: “For the Beauty of the Earth”
1 For the beauty of the earth,
for the glory of the skies,
for the love which from our birth
over and around us lies.
Refrain:
Christ, our Lord, to you we raise
this, our hymn of grateful praise.
2 For the wonder of each hour
of the day and of the night,
hill and vale and tree and flower,
sun and moon and stars of light, [Refrain ]
3 For the joy of human love,
brother, sister, parent, child,
friends on earth, and friends above,
for all gentle thoughts and mild, [Refrain]
4 For yourself, best gift divine,
to the world so freely given,
agent of God’s grand design:
peace on earth and joy in heaven. [Refrain]
.
INVOCATION: In Unison
Father, we know we are not of this world but have a heavenly inheritance, reserved for us in heaven. For your glory, help us to take every thought captive and to surrender our hearts and lives to You in true obedience and godly humility. May we who are Your children be drawn closer to each other and to You. Build us up into a spiritual house, where Christ is the cornerstone and may Your indwelling Holy Spirit – prompt and guide us, encourage and train. Lord, we surrender all to You today and pray that we walk in newness of love and humble obedience all our day. Amen
.
HYMN OF WORSHIP: “I Need Thee Every Hour”
1 I need thee every hour,
most gracious Lord;
no tender voice like thine
can peace afford.
Refrain:
I need thee, O I need thee;
every hour I need thee!
O bless me now, my Savior,
I come to thee.
2 I need thee every hour,
stay thou near by;
temptations lose their power
when thou art nigh. [Refrain]
3 I need thee every hour,
in joy or pain;
come quickly, and abide,
or life is vain. [Refrain]
4 I need thee every hour;
teach me thy will,
and thy rich promises
in me fulfill. [Refrain]
.
CONFESSING OUR SIN TOGETHER: In Unison
Lord God, we confess that it is our practice to follow our own desires or the culture around us more than Your will for our lives. We easily slip into earthly ways, with earthly inducements and earthly rewards, and we ignore Your way, which is both difficult and exhilarating. This fallen world seduces us, and our pride propels us. We confess that we sin against ourselves, our neighbor, and You when we stray from Your will, and we ask Your forgiveness and seek Your strength to walk with You, in Jesus’ name. Amen. Use the next few moments for quiet reflection and confession of sins to God.
.
ASSURANCE OF PARDON:
He has not punished us as we deserve for all our sins, for His mercy toward those who fear and honor Him is as great as the height of the heavens above the earth.

HYMN OF ADORATION: “In the Garden”
1 I come to the garden alone,
While the dew is still on the roses;
And the voice I hear, falling on my ear,
The Son of God discloses.
Refrain:
And He walks with me, and He talks with me,
And He tells me I am His own,
And the joy we share as we tarry there,
None other has ever known.
2 He speaks, and the sound of His voice
Is so sweet the birds hush their singing;
And the melody that He gave to me
Within my heart is ringing. [Refrain]
3 I’d stay in the garden with Him
Tho’ the night around me be falling;
But He bids me go; thro’ the voice of woe,
His voice to me is calling. [Refrain]

CLOSING SONG: “My Faith Looks Up to Thee,
1 My faith looks up to thee,
thou Lamb of Calvary,
Savior divine:
now hear me while I pray,
take all my guilt away,
O let me from this day
be wholly thine.
2 May thy rich grace impart
strength to my fainting heart,
my zeal inspire;
as thou hast died for me,
O may my love to thee
pure, warm, and changeless be,
a living fire.
3 While life’s dark maze I tread,
and griefs around me spread,
be thou my guide;
bid darkness turn to day,
wipe sorrow’s tears away,
nor let me ever stray
from thee aside.
4 When ends life’s transient dream,
when death’s cold, sullen stream
shall o’er me roll,
blest Savior, then, in love,
fear and distrust remove;
O bear me safe above,
a ransomed soul.
