Roslyn, WA ——
Friends of Mt. Pisgah,
The news of the school shooting in Connecticut horrifies and saddens all of us. It reminds us that evil exists in this world and life simply is not safe. At the same time, we have a Savior who loves us and calls us to bear witness to the hope that we have in him. “In life and in death, we belong to the Lord,” is how one of our confessions of faith puts it.
A friend of mine, Mark Galli, is now editor-in-chief at Christianity Today magazine, and he wrote a commentary I’d like to pass on to you. Mark points well to the hope that we have, even in the midst of tragedy. We of all people can know the hope of Christ. As we grieve and pray for those who have lost loved ones, we do so with a quiet, steady faith, which sustains us.

Bless you all!
